Our under 15s enjoyed a superb NI Super Cup 2017
Day 1 Terry Carroll and Niall Cullys men played terrific throughout the tournement, beating Co Down in their opening game 2-0 with two excellent goals from Kyle Cosgrove. A truely brilliant performance and start from the Orchard boys
Day 3 Orchard met one of the favorites Southampton (Cat A Academy). The boys played outstanding football and beat Southampton 2-0 with goals from Adam Cleary and Zac Furey. Two excellet wins in a row against two very string sides.
Day 3 The boys came up against FC Bayern GPS from the USA. In tought windy conditions, Orchard fought hard against the breeze in the first half to keep Bayern out, great defending 0-0 at half time, the Orhcrad were the stronger of gthe two teams. Late in the second half the linesman gave a very controvers penalty against Orchard and GPS Bayern scored, totally aganst the run of play, with two minutes to go, Orchard were awarded a penalty themselves after the Bayern keeper seemed to foul Zac Furey in the box. Unfortunately Orchard couldnt convert the penalty and sadly lost 1-0, which was completely the wrong result on the day, some would feel they were very hard done by, by the officials
Day 4 The boys played the NDSL in the semi final of the VASE section and narrowly lost on penalties after a 1-1 draw
Day 5 - The Orchard finised the tournament in typical Orchard fashion. They rolled up their sleeves and played superb football against MC Elite winning 2-1, a brilliant end to a very good campaign for the boys. Many people were talking aboyt Cherry orchard sgtaying they deserved to be in the Final !
