We caught up with our Director of Football Karl Keogh to get his thoughts on the upcoming NI Super Cup.....I would like to wish all the players and staff involved in Cherry Orchard U15’s team the very best of luck as they prepare themselves for the Northern Ireland Super Cup in Coleraine in July.
All involved have put in an outstanding amount of hard work both on and off the pitch within the last few months to make their entry into this competition possible.
I’d like to give a special appreciation to their manager Terry Carrol and coach Neal Cully for all of their help and efforts in continuing the tradition of Cherry Orchard’s participation in the Milk Cup.
Each year, as a club, we look forward to competing in the Milk Cup which has been ingrained in Cherry Orchard’s history since 1993, when Christy Hammond guided his side to victory over Glasgow Rangers. This tournament gives our U15’s the fantastic opportunity to compete against teams such as Southampton FC, GPS FC Bayern and County Down.
A tournament of such high intensity will provide them with vital experience as they grow and develop as footballers. As we have done in previous years, this year we will travel again to compete with passion and respect in the correct manner as we represent our club.
I’d like to thank the Cherry Orchard F.C. Committee who along with the tournament organiser Jim Stanford, have worked endlessly behind the scenes to ensure our participation in the 2017 Milk Cup.
Finally, I ask you all to join me in wishing Terry, Niall and all the players the very best of luck as they compete in this week long competition from July 23rd to July 28th.
Best of luck!
Karl Keogh
